இந்திய தொலை தொடர்பு துறையின் முக்கிய நிறுவனமான BSNL ன் 54 ஆயிரம் தொழிலாளர்களை கட்டாய விடுப்பில் வீட்டுக்கு அனுப்பும் திட்டமானது விரைவில் நடைபெறும் என எதிர்பார்க்க படுகிறது

கடந்த பிப்ரவரி முதல் சம்பள பட்டுவாடா செய்யாமல் இழுத்தடித்த நிர்வாகம் மத்திய அரசின் அறிவுரை படி தற்போது வழங்கபட்டுள்ளது .

இந்திய தொலைதொடர்பில் கால் பதிக்க ஆரம்பித்த ஜியோவை கண்டு பயந்த ஏர்டெல் .வோடபோன் நிறுவனங்கள் வர்த்கத்தில் சரிவை சந்தித்து அதே போல பொது துறை நிறுவனமான BSNL மாபெரும் சரிவை சந்தித்து கடந்த 2017-18 நிதியாண்டில் 31.287 கோடி இழப்பை சந்தித்துள்ளது

அதுமட்டுமல்லாமல் சம்பளம் கொடுக்க முடியாத நிலைக்கு தள்ளபட்டுள்ளது இந்நிலை தொலைதொடர்பு வரலாற்றில் முதன்முறை என சொல்லபடுகிறது

இந்நிலையில் தொலைதொடர்பு செயலாளர் அருணா சுந்தர்ராஜன் உயர்மட்ட அதிகாரிகளோடு ஆலோசனை நடத்தினார். அதில் இந்நிறுவனத்தை மீண்டு வர பல ஆலோசனைகள் வழங்கியுள்ளதாக தெரிகிறது

Subject: Concessional telephone facility to Retired/ retiring employees of BSNL— Free Night calling facility regarding.

In continuation to this office Circular No. 11/2007-PHA dated 20 . 07 . 2007; the competent authority has reviewed and approved the extension of Free Night Calling facility to BSNL retired employees having Concessional Telephones as extended to any other subscriber.

All Other terms and conditions of circulars issued earlier regarding the policy remain unchanged.

Cabinet approves Revision of pension of BSNL Pensioners Removing Anomalies

The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the revision of pension of BSNL pensioners and family pensioners, who retired prior to 10.06.2013 by allowing the benefit of merger of 50% DA/DR with Basic Pay/ Pension, effectively amounting to 78.2% DA/DR for the purpose of fitment, and (ii) Modifying the liability of BSNL towards the payment of pensionary benefits to the retired employees.

The pension of BSNL pensioners/family pensioners, who retired prior to 10.06.2013 has been revised w.e.f. 01.01.2007 notionally with actual benefit w.e.f. 10.06.2013, by allowing the benefit of merger of 50% DA/DR with Basic Pay/ Pension, effectively amounting to 78.2% DA/DR for the purpose of fitment at par with the serving employees of BSNL. However, increase in the amount of DCRG, leave encashment and commutation of pension in respect of these pensioners shall not be increased on this account.

The pension liability in respect of employees of Department of Telecommunications (DOT) / Department of Telecom Services (DTS) / Department of Telecom Operations (DTO) who retired prior to 01.10.2000 is solely borne by Government of India and the BSNL will have no liability in respect of these employees. In respect of employees who are absorbed in BSNL, the liability on account of pensionary benefits shall be fully borne by Government while BSNL will continue to discharge pension liability by way of pension contribution in accordance with FR-116 for the period they so work/worked.

The revision entails an estimated recurring annual expenditure of approximately Rs 129.63 crore for pensioners and Rs 24.93 crore for family pensioners and arrears from 2013-14 would be Rs 239.92 crore approximately for pensioners and Rs 44.62 Crore approximately for family pensioners. Approximately118500 pensioners all over India will be benefitted by this revision.

This revision will fulfill the long pending demand of revision of pension of BSNL absorbed employees who retired prior to 10.06.2013 and will bring the pensioners at par with the serving employees of BSNL by removing the anomalies. It will help in reducing the financial burden of BSNL and removing prospects of industrial unrest in BSNL while fulfilling the commitment of Government.

Background: The decision of the Cabinet has come in the wake of an anomalous situation created in the difference of pension formula among the BSNL retirees who retired before and after 10.06.2013. Further, the decision regarding pensionary liability is on persistent demand from various quarters and a series of deliberations at different levels to fulfill the assurance given by the Government before corporatization i.e. before formation of BSNL.

20 GB 3G internet service for as low as Rs.50.

BSNL, India’s biggest telecommunication company, made headlines when news surfaced that it is going to introduce 20 GB 3G internet service for as low as Rs.50.

For the past two days, this has been one of the hottest topics of discussion and much searched-for phrase on the internet.

So, how true is this news?

Despite our best efforts, there is no clarity on this issue. There has been no circular or advertisement either from the government or from the BSNL regarding this.

It is not just the internet, but the social media too that is discussing this news. Here is a summary of the news item:

“In order to provide superfast browsing experience to smartphone users, telecom service providers are now providing 3G and 4G internet services. Meanwhile, news has surfaced that BSNL is planning to offer 20 GB 3G internet for as low as Rs.50. BSNL is going to provide the 3g services at such rock-bottom prices as part of the Prime Minister’s Digital India initiative to make the internet accessible to all. The scheme will be launched with government subsidiary. The service can be used by just one person or be shared among four.

In the rural areas, one person in the family can obtain this service and share it with four others. According to information, the BSNL Allahabad General Manager, Ram Shubh Yadav had announced that those interested in availing this service should register themselves at the BSNL Selfcare website. The announcement or the news has not yet been confirmed or verified by the BSNL authorities.

Currently, leading mobile telecom companies charge anything between Rs.160 to Rs.250 per GB of 3G internet. If BSNL provides 20 times the GB in less than one-fourth the cost, it will tremendously increase the company’s user base. At the same time, it also raises questions if such a move will be valid according to TRAI regulations.”

Bsnl call Rates

BSNL cuts call rates for exisBsnlting users by up to 80%…

State-run BSNL has extended the scheme giving 80% reduction in mobile rates to its existing customers, with effect from January 16.

The company had earlier announced the scheme for new customers.

“Earlier, BSNL had reduced call rate by up to 80% for its new prepaid mobile customers only and now the same has been extended for existing prepaid users also,” the company said in a statement.

The call rates have been reduced for both per minute and per second billing plans.

“Our tariffs are most competitive in the industry having largest network coverage. Two new special tariff vouchers (STV) have also been introduced,” BSNL board director (consumer mobility), RK Mittal said.

BSNL is taking various initiatives to improve its services and add more customers.

The company has also gone mobile number portability (MNP) positive with 1,57,564 people joining its network and 1,24,158 leaving its network between July to November period.

At the end of September, BSNL mobile customer base stood at 79.6 million and the company figured among top 5 players in terms of new subscriber addition during the month.
